Fatback Band Let the Drums Speak / KRL Remember Donny

Let the drums speak by the Fatback Band was always ahead of its time mainly due to slightly off kilter (dare i say, wonky) beats. Originally released in 1985 and taken from their album Yum Yum, 35 or so years later the break is sampled to great effect in the stunning Remember Donny. Enjoy 2 past & future classics...

Sunsplash Festival - Antalya 2010

Music festival in Antalya, Turkey 23rd - 30th May 2010.

Great line-up incl. Jamie Lidell, Gilles Peterson, Simbad, Phil Asher and the amazing Ahu.....

Ahu.....A lady who has been making beautiful sonic waves of late utilising her production skills and letting loose her wonderfully moody vocals. Her production list may not be expansive, but it hits where it matters; let’s start with her work with the likes of Flying Lotus on Warp records and her collaborations with Simbad, Bullion, Emanative and Soundspecies. Her DJing alongside the likes of Lefto, Seiji and the bPm at East Village, Gramaphone, Plastic People and other great venues has also created quite a stir in London. Although based in Istanbul, where she has a weekly slot on Dinamo FM, it is in the UK that Ahu is getting most of her due recognition. This is a lady with talent and a voice to listen out for.

Some tasty looking workshops on offer too including a Beat Session with all round super ace good guy Phil Asher and Jamie Lidell offering an insight into his unique take on electronic music.
